When We Pray

Prayer is more than words we speak to God. It's the space where God speaks back, calls us forward, and sometimes confronts us.

In this 5-week series, we are exploring the bold, honest prayers of men and women in the Old Testament — prayers spoken in exile, resistance, surrender, and hope.

Each Sunday, we will make space to actually pray together, engaging in confession, intercession, surrender, and bold request as we respond to these stories of Scripture.

Prayer Groups

SUNDAY | AUG 24

Reflect

1. What do you need to bring into the light with God today?

Take a moment in silence to reflect. Ask the Spirit to reveal what needs to be brought into the light. Maybe it’s a place of sin. Maybe it’s a place of shame. Maybe it’s a place where you feel stuck. Whatever it is — name it honestly before Him.

2. What would it look like to move from concealing to confessing?

What do you need to Own? (Head) What do you need to Grieve? (Heart)
What do you need to Do? (Hands) Who are the trusted people with whom you will share?

Pray

3. Take turns offering short, simple prayers of confession and trust in God’s mercy. If you would like to, end your prayers with: “Create in me a clean heart, O God.”

Feel free to sit in a moment of silence between prayers, or to pray silently if you prefer. Remember, your prayers don’t have to be eloquent—just honest.
